More Megasquirt questions
Jasongray5 - 3/7/09 at 09:43 PM

Having never tinkered with zetecs or injection engines, naturaly, I have decided this is the best way to head.
I have purchased a 2001 black top 1.8 complete with loom, sensors, and fusebox.
Apart from an inlet manifold, and edis. What else am I going to need.
Also which are the best throttle bodies for my application?
Cheers Guys Jas Gray

It all depends on what you want to spend and how much work you want to do yourself. The budget end is motorbike throttle bodies, and I've written up a load of info on my website, www.fatbaldbloke.co.uk. you might find something of interest if only background knowledge.

Bike throttle bodies will come in under £100, you can either respace to fit the manifold or build a manifold to suit the TB's.

Megasquirt fully built can be obtained from a number of sources, Phil is a good person to use based upon my experience.

Extra EFI

He has also provided lots of useful advise on his web site.

You can reduce the price by building yourself but to be honest for a warrented product with premade connectors I would not bother making my own again.

If you can do the work they can be done on the cheap.

38mm will be plenty for a 1.8. That means most of the 600 sports bikes will give you what you need.

Early R6 tb's look like carbs but arnt. They are respacable and cheap LINK I paid £18.50 +p&p for an inlet flange.

And they are nearly done.

Another semi-hijack.... I'm thinking of buying the built megasquirt from the link in mark chandler's post - anything I should know/ask before I do?

I'll be running a 2 litre blacktop with griffin inlet.

Thoughts/advice/comments welcome

Cheers
