EFI Options

As many of you know, i was going to go down the megasquirt route, but due to unforseen circumstances (tintop needing new rear shocks) my megasquirrt fund is pretty much empty.
I have phones a few jag breakers asking for a 3.6 XJS engine loom bu as the ECU is in the boot, they want megasquirt money for it
Are there any other cheaper options? I was wondering if it may be possible to adapt another 6 pot system to work on my engine?
If not, its going to be september at least before i can afford Megasquirt

if youve got the wiring diagram , you dont really need the loom itself , just spare wire .

Thought about that but i dont have an ECU or a diagram of what wire to connect to what pins.
The only diagram i have for it is the later version which uses air mass meter, cat and other sensors/switches my motor dont have

ECU off a V6 Ford? Don't know how handy you are with electronics but can't be impossible, can it?

Personally i'd have to say just wait - you'll probably end up regretting it if you dont, but instead try to cobble something together that wont work half as well as doing it properly.

You could put some bike carbs or SUs and megajolt on it.

if i were you hold fire and save up for the megasquirt. You can buy it in kit form for 120 quid i think

You could but would need to look for a system with a power resistor such as rover v8, any old loom will be crunchy and destroyed by the time you transplant.

Why not use your 2.9 loom and ECU, its should be good enough to get it running.

Because i donated that engine to college and brought a 3.6
Problem is, that didnt come with an ECU and teh loom was in shreds
