Hi,
In our project LCCT we want to have a "Check Engine Indicator" LED at the dashboard.
We use the PCM (ECU) of a Focus Blacktop code "TEEM" build year +/- 2003.
Because the original "Check Engine Indicator" has been integrated at the "Instrument Cluster" I don't know how to wire the
LED to get the light working.
We don't use the original "Instrument Cluster" and we don't have one to see how it works.
Has some one an idea?
Can I do something with the DLC (data link connector)?
How to convert a digital info from the PCM (ECU) to an analog signal (12v)?
Kind regards,
Carlos
if you just want a check engine lamp just to pass any inspection, the usual trick is to wire it to the oil pressure light.
if you want to do it properly you will need to look much further into the original systems, & canbus / obd diagnostics.
I suggest you get a wiring diagram of the doner car - which hopefully includes pinouts [individual pin assignments] of each module
