Rover inlet on Zetec ?
britishtrident - 17/2/06 at 11:38 AM

Anybody using a Rover inlet manifold on a Zetec via an adaptor plate ?

I discovered it dosen't have to be off a Turbo manifold --- the standard T16 manifold has the same part numbers right down the the injectors although the fuel pressure reguator is different for obvious reasons.

Its a good find BT

When i looked at the 2 litre zetec the biggest problem was the size of the inlet/plenum chamber unit, the 1600/1800 is smaller and people have used this with the 2 litre TB on.

The Rover unit looks far more compact and i'm sure the adapter plate is achievable by the most engineers here.

I see a fair few Rover T's in the scrappy.

Seen it done around and about, but no...

If I ever get round to forced induction, then I'll probably take a look....

'scuse my ignorance, but what's a T series rover?
Or is it just a turbo'd K Series?

Could look interesting that's all as a possibility.

As fitted to the 220 Turbo coupe...very different to the "K" ... much heavier for a start....

Yep ---- goes back to dear old MGB engine but with a 16 valve head --- come along way from the 1200cc engine that first appeared in the the Austin A40 in 1948.

Seriously good engine, smooth and powerful but too heavy for a locost.
Even the normally aspirated version pokes out 140bhp, turbo version exists in various outputs up to 190 ps stock.
