Need some advice..... How easy is it to install a megajolt or Omex along with bike carbs to a 1.8 Zetec? I am a complete novice at engine management
systems, so I want a simple and reliable set up. Plug and play would suit me. I am also on a budget.
I am told you can obtain the megajolt setup from EBAY for approx £200. I looked but only found Megajolt MJLJ for £92?? Would I need anything else.
I also got a quote for Omex 100 from Griffin Power:
Omex 100 Unit £384
Engine Loom £85
Water Temp sensor + thread adaptor £25
Or £494 all in.
Any comments on which one is easiest/cheapest to install?
Keith.
This site should point you in the right direction for the megajolt setup:

I've just installed a Megajolt unit that I'd built myself. Wiring it into the car is not a big or difficult job, as long as you can get the
EDIS-4 unit and coil from a suitable Escort or Orion.
There's plenty of MJ users on this site, so I'm sure you'll get plenty of answers! There are also a couple of people who will sell you
a completed MJ unit, if you don't fancy building your own.
For starters, have a look here and here for a few clues.
Have fun!

Damn! Beaten to the second link!

The Omex will be a slightly better option as it can make adjustments based on engine temp etc.
I would still go with Megajolt though. Oh yes, I did!!
There are many users now so getting a map close to what you need will not be hard and fine tuning is pretty straightforward.
You can pick up a Megajolt for less than £100 with Edis built in and then just need to sort the coils, wheel and vr sensor.
