http://www.maplin.co.uk/module.aspx?ModuleNo=29968&doy=26m6#overview

When I installed it it wanted to use com port 11. megatune wouldn't connect to MS on Com 11. so I changed the adapter to be Com 4. This then worked.

but scott did it not disconnect a few times......

.....or was that my shoddy wiring??

Think it was me playing around with the laptop. Rebooted the laptop and it was ok.

Have a search for old posts on usb and megasquirt; one exists which talks about the adapters all being made by the same or a small number of companies. I remember being being instructed to download the drivers from the web and not using the supplied drivers.

Anyway, I bought a very cheap usb serial connector from ebay and followed those instructions and it hs always worked perfectly. Good luck.
