Anyone know an alternative to Bogg Bros??
DaveFJ - 16/8/07 at 03:52 PM

As per title basically...

I need to get an inlet manifold for GSXR 750 TBs to Pinto head. Bogg Bros is going to be >£200... anyone know of a a cheaper alternative?

cheers

I can make you a pinto manifold in ali for £120. See my site

I know, I'm a fabricator, not a webmaster

I'll get them sorted in the end

Looking good

some piccies would be nice....

any 'satisified customers' out there (or on here) for reference?

What are your manifolds made from and how are they constructed?

cheers

Dave

ive got a spare inlet manifold & set of carbs for use as a template if you need

a picture of the gsxr pinto mainfold would be good too please

btw all of your images reference

http://throttle-bodies.com/shop/images/
rather than and actual jpeg jpg or gif file

change the link to point at the correct picture and upload the pics to the correct directory and it'll all be sorted

They'll get there in the end

Every time I make something for someone it ends up in a box being shipped out before I can take a few snaps. Also need to take decent pics, not just my usual fare too

Not here sadly

Plenty of talkers, no buyers

Never went in for the forum groupie thing myself, but I'm sure I could find someone that said I nattered too much on the phone and then posted out what I said I would

6061-T6 ali. 10 or 12mm flanges (depends what I'm sent at the time), and 6061 tubes tig welded to the flanges.

@ jos; I have the Pinto flange in stock, I'd need to know if you were going to have the bodies spaced (not a hard task). It's more time and money to do a 'bent' runner manifold (like Bogg Bros) that it's actually worth, and the end product is always nicer.

I'll see if I can rustle up a few pics for you all...

EDIT: A miscellany of various manifolds... CLICKY

you dont have the option of angleing the carbs upwards to keep the float chamber level

i can only see straight horizontal inlets in that lot.

That's because they're throttle body inlets, not bike carb ones. As you rightly implied, bike carb inlets have an approx 0 degree upward angle to keep the floats level.

DaveFJ - 16/8/07 at 07:40 PM

I take it your pinto manifold would taper to from the throttle bodies to the head rather than have a step?

would you need the bodies sent to you to make this up (as Bog bros do) ?

cheers fella

Fatboy Dave - 16/8/07 at 08:02 PM

They haven't got a step, honest

Just some rather poor pre-production manifolds using a selection of scrap flanges (if you look closely, you'll see that the Zetec ones have been welded on the wrong side... I wasn't having a good day that day...).

I don't need the bodies sent to me to make one up as I space GSXRs out and have spacer kits on the shelf for them. Makes it look so much nicer that way.

Got one of of cryoman. Certainly can recommend him and product was really good. They were very helpful and very competitive on price.

Float angle doesnt have to be horizontal. Ive had mine made less that horizontal to put the air filter in a convenient position. Take a look at Boggs archive for the V8 install. According to Boggs they work just fine.
