i have a luego wiring loom which so far has been straight forward. today i started to tackle the lights and was succesful so far with power to the
side lights, so i moved on to the indicators.
the destructions give 3 wires for flasher unit -
red/light green - 49
light green/brown - 49a
black - 31
my flasher isnt labelled with the numbers but with + - and L
destructions state for indicator/hazard wiring -
purple - permanent supply (30)
green - ign switched supply (54)
green/red - output to LH indicators (L)
green/light green - output to RH indicators(R)
red/light green - output to flasher relay (49)
light green/brown - input from flasher relay
this arrangement is set up for the ford sierra type switch.
to use ordinary switches will require using 30 as hazard switch supply and splicing into (L), (R), (49) & (49a).
connect indicator switch as shown
i have wired my indicators up as shown below and they work fine but im now lost as to how to wire in the toggle switch as my hazard switch??
also my dash warning lights??
please attack my diagram to show me what i need to do, iv spent all day trying to sort this and lost precious time with sva cut off looming
yours hopefully

This picture may be of help.
Ok the picture is too big I'll e mail it to you
looked at that piddy its the one using durite hazard switch, im using a simple on/off toggle
Ok this is what I have come up with.
the diodes need to have the band facing the red or green wires on the revised diagram.

thanks YQUSTA what size diodes do i need, i have a maplins near me i can sort them from there but have no idea what im asking for?
thanks
chris
I would say go as big as the 6 amp.
I have the same setup for my indicators and fitted 1 amp but only because thats all they had in the maplins I went to but I will be swapping them out
for 6 amp when I get round to it. the system is working with 1 amp as its only the indicator light, but for the hazzard It may just be more than 1
amp.
Better to be safe and they cost bugger all

thanks YQUSTA ill be off to maplin tomorrow
cheers

If you have the band facing the green wires, won't that stop any power getting to it from either side indicator?
Neil
True it should have said away from the green wires.
I don't understand why it needs diodes, sorry if I'm a bit backwards but doesn't the hazard switch isolate the circuit when it's in the off position and when it's on the flow is to earth. If you had tell tales to each indicator and they both come on together when the hazard is operating you could do away with the hazard tell tale.
the diodes on the hazzard switch are there because if you put the indicators on without them both left and right indicators would flash at the same time.
