Hazard wiring - bike engine and loom

Hi

We are building a TL1000r GTS W7DE and ive done all the wiring bar the hazard switch

am i right in thinking if i use a toggle switch and put a permanent power to it and use it to bypass the stalk switch that it should power both indicator circuits at the same time therefore giving me hazards?? even with the ign off?

....or am i thinking jibber jabber?

seems a good easy way to do it. not sure if its right though

it works perfectly in my head.......

in my head too, but i'm sure there's a seperate relay normally involved.
also, i'm thinking, how would you keep the left and right indicators seperate, the wiring might end up resulting in all the lights flashing whenever you try and switch on the indicators in either direction

i have thought about this and i intend to use a 4 pole swith keeping the circuits separate

its just the dash lights might not work.

i feel the ign being left on for the SVA test.....if we get an sva that is......!

if you took the feed for your switch from the flasher relay then from the switch you can splice into both indicator circuits.

you would need diodes if you feed the 2 indicator circuits from 1 pin on the switch.

You have to isolate each side, this one worked for me, it is a modified one from a Mini forum

Sorry image is too big, will try to shrink it, also this shows only 2 pins on hazard flasher, most now have 3 but the other is earth so shouldn't have any effect. Anyone know what image size works?

Alan...

The other thing to consider is caneling of the indcators, I dont think its an MoT requirement but cars have a system that cuts the normal indicators out so you dont end up with a clash of multiple flash signals.
(Ignore all that as i think its been covered !)

you wonder why no one has made a indicator and hazard relay that can do both.
