Having completed my steering column transplant, i have started on the re-wiring.
I had a mini 2 pin indicator relay wired for the indicators and a 3 pin relay for the hazards. The 2 pin relay was clicking when the indicators were
operated but lights weren't flashing (only sending 0.1 volts . I thought the relay was knackered so i brought a 3 pin one on ebay and rewired
the relay socket. Problem is, i put the hazard relay in to check it works but all it does is blow the (10a) fuse.
Are indicator and hazard relays different?
how have you wired (connected) the hazzard relay?
i have only got one 3pin relay for hazards and indicators.
the way mine works is the relay creates the flash then the sierra stalks direct the current to either the left or right hand side. when you turn the
hazards on it sends current to both sides.
im guessing you are not using stalks?

Bloody hell, are you still on about relays?

put a bulb on the output leg of the relay and earth it to the chassis. if the relay is ok it should flash like the clappers.
^^^ Just been out and done that and it seems the relay is fine. I also wired up a different switch so see if that is at fault but it made no
difference so the switch is fine.
Just thinking out loud, could it be the fact that i have 2 fuses (one to the ignition switch and one just before the indicator relay)?
Classic Mini used 2 relays, one for the indicators and the second was for hazard lights are using Jag switch's it might pay to use whatever the Jag used?
