I have a Lotus Elise S1 dash in my car, i have connected the tach, lights...ect but need a little help with the speedo and water temp?

Does the water temp have to have a +v feed
Also how do i make 10.1433Hz/MPH? I think the std elise uses an abs sensor.. but not 100% sure
I suck at electrics
water temp is usually a resistance to earth, but i seem to be recall the speed signal on the K series elise was from the ECU originally

And what is your rolling tyre circumference?
Measure this in metres (mine is about 1.795m for a 195/50/R15). Multiply this number by 22.69 to give the number of pulses per revolution of the
wheel.
(22.69 is the number of pulses per metre as calculated by 36515/1609).
In my example, this would require approx 41 pulses per wheel revolution. Maybe someone like TriggerWheels would be able to make something
suitable?

Or divide it down by your final drive ratio and put the sensor on the propshaft.
Yeah - I keep forgetting about propshafts! (my engine is at the back...)
Cheers guys, I think i have 235/50/15 but they could be 225/50/15... ill go measure.
Would any abs sensor work? does this have to be earthed one side or powered one side?

Yellow box / speedohealer will enable you to get the pulses right.
The dash is expecting the output from a hall sensor that gives a nice clean pulse train. A standard Variable Reluctance ABS sensor will not work.

This is the std Elise sensor?

are these different to ABS sensors. I just thought they might use the 44t ABS ring from the rover driveshaft as an imput for the ecu. could be totaly
wrong though
Apparently the elise sensor sends a sinewave +/- 12v
so not an ABS sensor?
Actually you might be ok with a VR sensor. I collected a load of information on this some time ago to use a Lotus dash, but I just noticed that the
diagram I have is for a 26 pin connector which shows separate pins for the hall effect sensor supply, signal and ground. The 24 pin you are showing
is totally different.
+-12v is quite possible from a VR sensor at higher speeds.
