At the moment i have no indication for when the side lights are on but i beleive this is an IVA must.
The easiest options i have available to me are to either replace my 3 point toggle switch with one of those ones with an LED on the end, or replace
the hazard warning light with a side light light.
If i went for the later, the only indication (for IVA) of the hazards being on would be the audible click of the relay when the engine is off and the
left and right indicator symbols flashing when the engine is running (obviously wouldnt hear the relay).
Would either of these two options be IVA OK? Id rather not start drilling more holes in the dash.
wont your gauge lights act as a warning?

Can you not just rewire that to come on with position lamps instead?
You don't need a warning light for the sidelights or dip, only for main beam or have I missed something ? Please show me where this is in the IVA document.

Just wire a LED into the side-light circuit and fit to the dash.

it has to have the corect symbol if you use a warning light , so an LED on its own won;t be any good,
IIRC the sidelights have to work with the ignition switched off too ?
what type of dash do you have ??, on the koso ones it turns the backlight off if the supply voltage drops below about 10volts, i'm working on a
little circuit at the moment to to give 9.5v with lights off, and full12v with lights on
