Any one know of common faults with the 206, daughter has one and continually draining the battery, I would rather look at known problems before I start to trace out other things

First thing is to find if it is an actual current drain or a dead (gassing) cell in the battery. If the battery has a dead cell it will start very easily with jump leads and run and start perfectly afterwards until the next cold start.

If the battery is draining very quickly then suspect the alternator diodes are leaking current back through the windings, often although one or more diodes are blown the alternator will still charge quite happily at 13.4 volts. Two ways to test either measure the leakage current or simply disconnect the alternator overnight to see if this stops the drain.

Be aware when testing with DMM that they have a 10 amp internal fuse which is very easy to blow and it won't give any indication it has blown.
