Right lads you have not let me down so far in the past and I need your help once more.......
Took the Indy out of the garage today to go for a run in the sun, when noticed that the fuel gauge was reading full, now I do know that was not
possible, unless the fuel fairy had been in over night.
As I trundled along the road I noticed that needle was up and down spasmodically, didn't worry to much because I knew I had enough fuel for the
length of the run I was about to complete.
As I went along the needle decided to stay well past the full mark, when I turn the engine off it goes back to the empty position and when I put the
ignition back on it goes flying over past the full position.
Had no trouble in the past....... Any ideas????????
Please help..,..
Regards Greenie
best first guess would be a faulty earth,....
Sounds like the wire from the gauge to the sender is touching/shorting to earth somewhere along the way.

Best second guess is a short. If I short my sender live to chassis, ther gauge goes to full.
