Hi,
I run a polo rad on my fireblade seven.
The fan has never once kicked in, though the temp has never got much above half way even on a "spirited" drive, so I;ve never been at all
concerned, but as I am selling it on soon, I want it 100% right first.
So, I'm about to by a lower temp fan switch
this one ( http://partfinder.smpeurope.com/index.html?p=156&partid=50105&from=155&recordset=210&value=50105 )
as it kicks in at a much more fireblade relevant 84 degrees.
My question (which I know is a daft one...)
is - how do I wire the three terminals?
I didnt do the wiring on my car, so its a bit of a blank area!
I have two wires going to the switch, and then onto the fan...but I'm not convinced the switch is wired right - it could be, I just dont know,
and seeing as I am bug fixing, I might as well check!
The fan works fine, when i wire it direct to the cables coming to the switch it fires up lovely...
Thanks

for the one you got test it with a mulit meter in a pot of boiling water ...
I usually use these linky
That is a two speed fan switch , fan cuts in at low speed when the lower temperature is reached and on fast speed when the higher is reached. You may be better off with a single speed switch if you only have a single speed fan ?
oh I see!
Thanks for the clarification - i wasn't sure if it was for some sort of override switch.
The problem with the current one is I think it is 100+ on temp for a zetec. and no matter how much i boil the water it wont go over 100 will it cos it
aint under pressure?
I havn't tested it for this reason
any idea which of the terminals does what?

you have switch with two sets of normally open (N/O) contacts.
one contact closes at 84 C and other at 88 C
circuit diagram is:
it is up to you as to figure out which is A, B and C.
even if you don't know the connections, choose any two contacts you will get closed circuit at either 84 or 88 C but for sure a by timie temp
reaches 88 you will have complete circuit.
