Constantly loosing the key to my car, or leaving it places - and luckily found it every time so far, but its only a matter of time - so I want to rid
the key altogether, and steering 'lock' that also comes with the crabby Sierra alloy setup.
How 'easy' is it to do? Done a search which didn't come up with anything concrete as such...
Also still trying to chase a the neutral light on the Busa loom, if anyone new is reading this? lol
Cheers
Olz
its not hard...i have been looking at doing the same thing myself. Its not desperately cheap either.

Couldn't you wire it to earth a relay which operates the starter ?
Im not particulary fussed about 'anyone' being able to start it, if someone was gonna steal it they push it away anyway, much quieter lol
it just replaces the ignition last turn on your current ignition. eaisest way to do it is to leave lock in but hide it under dash and glue key in so you dont lose it and then wire the starter to the starter live and negative. then you turn key to 3 and press start button. otherwise you need to replace the ignition barrel with switches for ignition and starter etc....
So I'd keep the key constantly turned at position 2 of three, and clue it in there, hide it behind the dashboard?
Will that not keep my fuel pumps constantly running? or am I mistaken?
(sorry if a daft question, not too hot on electronics)
Youll need to repalce the sierra key switch with a new "master" power switch
and then add in your puch to start button or like this all in one very lightweight carbon one

Thanks for the link Col... Bookmarked!
Just fasten the key to the car with a bit of bathplug chain but hide it in a combination security box under the dash.
Infact... Col, I'll take your reply as a volunteer to help me out to do it lol
No prob, I can do electrical's a little bit

**this also relates to the gear indicator
Why. It leave the key in the ignition?
So here's the thing - How do you do a push button start where you just tap the button and it starts the car?
Not just replacing the start position with holding a button...
Thats far less simple and requires an ecu to do it.
Thought this might be the case.
Hmm bit of circuitry to run the starter until an rpm based output is used to disengage it - say 750rpm?
