MX5 and savage switches

Any one help me with this?

There seem to be too many contacts on the MX5 to use a Savage switch.

Any ideas?

Which switch? Most are simple + and -. Are you talking about hazards? Or headlights etc?

Oh sorry. It's the Hazard wiring.

Are you using the full MX5 loom? Or building your own to suit? I have a Savage switch on mine and as I remember is was quite straight forward.

I'm using the MX5 loom.

It does look straight forward until you see there is an extra pole in the mazda switch.

I think I have 3 wires. Positive, Earth and the light. Although I must admit trawling through those diagrams did nothing for my sleep! In the end I left stuff like that and the column switches till last. Sat in the car for about 4 hours with one of those sharp pointy testers. I had some Mk2 switch gear on a Mk1 loom. Part guess work!

Was yours a mk1 loom?

Yes. Not sure of all the differences, but it wasn't plug and play when it came to the column controls. Lots of cutting, soldering and heat shrinking. I had the loom prepared for me by MNR's sparky. Had to cut chunks out though as it was massive!

The MK1 has 2 wires to the switch. The MK2 has 6.

Just make your own mini loom for the Hazard switch, would be the simplest solution...

I think I have one in here - can't check at the mo!

If that doesn't work, try:
