Is your clutch switch working? Most bikes have a neutral and clutch switch, one or the other is required to be operating to start the engine.

erm, im not sure if there is one, is it part of the engine or located seperate

if its seperate, then it doesnt and never has had one

if its part of the engine, I've not seen it before and havnt found any cables for it

It worked before.

It doesn't work now.

Only re-wired it in between.

Therefore something changed when it was rewired.

You said that you re-wired it.

Hence you should know what has changed.

Why don't you know?

Earth the following wires on the ecu - Green, Green with white trace, light green - job done none of the interlocks will have any effect then

Yep, that would have been my follow up thought. If there never has been a switch then it's likely that it's been completely bypassed (starting in gear without clutch isn't as damaging in a car as it could be on a bike). In which case you might have 'tidied up' the connection not realising it was actually needed.

yer, I didnt have a clue what went where before I rewired it, so I just did it as per the drawing for the bike, taking out the bits that were no longer needed.

Thanks Andy, il give that a go when I get chance, hopefully that will solve it
