Last time I was that way there were signs beside the road saying "cats eyes removed"
Near bury I tried to edit my question I take it I will need a catalyst for the iva but not sure if my mega jolts will deal with the lambda sensor
Or if I need to get another bit of kit to run it
Megajolt only drives the ignition, the cat needs a lambda sensor control to control thr fuel injection.
The cat is a passive device that needs no control I.e. It is a metal mesh in the exhaust pipe that heats up, reacts with the exhaust gasses removing
some of the more dangerous elements.
As said megajolt is spark control only and used with carbs, mega squirt is needed for spark and injection control.
The lambda is just another sensor that tells you how well your fuel is burning in the engine and whether you have the right amount of fuel and air
going into the engine. This sensor can be used with some ecus to constantly monitor fuel/air mix and contiunously alter the injection flow to keep the
air fuel mix at a predetermined level, generally known as closed loop. Most aftermarket ecus will use a fixed map (spark and injection amount), the
lambda is used to set the engine up once and then not really needed.
For iva, iirc, if the engine is post 1995 it will need injection and cat to pass the emissions test, Pre 1995 you can get away with no cat and either
carbs or injection.
