My battery has died and now wont recover enough to start the engine.
Its one of the lightweight lithium racing types and usually I leave it on a conditioner trickle charger but after a run in the week I left the battery
isolator in the on position and its pulled current and drained the battery - again. this time I think its fooked.
This is the second one of these batteries and at 200 quid a time gets expensive.
What's everyone else using, obviously the light weight and small dimensions are nice but 200 quid isn't so appealing.

get a normal fully charged 12v battery and link the race battery to the normal 12v and leave for 48 hours then put it on a charger.
If they go below a certain voltage they wont charge and you need to force charge them from a battery.
Try it before forking out for a new one!

I would second what Ttalps has said, unlike lead acid, simply draining a Li battery down shouldn't knacker it - overcharging most defo will
tho' so check your charging voltage.
From tests, Li normally last something like twice to 5 x as long as Lead
checked this morning, its at full charge according to the cteck charger, disconnected it and put volt meter across it 13.4v turn lights on quickly
drops down to less than 11v and still dropping.
it recovers slowly to just under 12v.
ill try that trick with a good battery and give it another run with the cteck.
if that doesn't work then ill put Benzines music on and beat it with a chair leg. sure that will kill the battery..
A table leg may be more effective, heavier charge

Starts and runs my MX5 1.8 Sandrail no problems and my mate has one in his 2.5L Subaru Sandrail too.

Have fitted one of these to the demonstrator https://www.tayna.co.uk/motorcycle-batteries/xtreme/xr-600/ same size and spec as the Odyssey 680 but around £30 cheaper. Turns over the MX-5 engine just fine.
Well it never recovered, and no wonder when I got it out it had split on both sides and bottom.
Ended up with an oddesey pc680, even though it weighs twice what I had in and required some modification to the mount as was a little taller.
In stock at my local battery specialist and 107 inc VAT that's about half as much as the Aliant that was in cost.
