Although my quest to find a detailed online clutch catalogue has failed (https://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/forum/9/viewthread.php?tid=214301&page=1#pid1788113) I'll ask on here before I pester the local motor factors for their old parts books!!

As another part of my mating a BMW gearbox to a Pug V6, I need to find a three wire Crank Position Sensor with a long nose! The original Pug one picks up on a ring on the flywheel so mounts on the bellhousing. Obviously, the BMW bellhousing has no such hole so I need to make one. The surface where the CPS will fit on the BMW casting is just over 40mm away from the reluctor ring. The Pug CPS is about 20mm long so too short.
I'm assuming any three wire sensor will work? Or are there different voltage ones?
Anyhoo.....if anyone knows of an online catalogue of such things, I'd be utterly grateful.

How do you intend on fitting it? Would it be possible to modify the BMW bell housing so the original pickup position could be used?

I've already drilled a pilot hole in the BMW bellhousing. I just need a 370ohm sensor with a 40mm nose.

From memory some of the Peugeot 307 CPS are around 40mm long ?

I can't find a long 307 CPS....

But it just proves Bosch don't make a suitable sensor for my needs!!

Can you mount a toothed wheel at the front of the engine rather than using the flywheel?

I don't think so. The number of teeth are critical and i can't cram enough teeth into a little trigger wheel!

Can you machine a larger hole in the bell housing to take an inverted “top hat” adaptor with a standard CPS? providing you have enough clearance for the clutch etc it would work.

The sensor needs to be very close to the edge of the bellhousing, which at that point is 40mm deep. I may be able to munch a hole further down the bellhousing and tadge in a bracket to suit. The easy way would be to mount the sensor inside the bellhousing but that would mean the obvious issues if the sensor needed replacing!

I may as well answer my own question in case anyone else has landed here looking for the same thing!!
