Honda Vision Scooter Problem
perksy - 15/6/22 at 09:31 PM

Bit of a long shot this one, but I'll ask anyway as I know we've got some good experience on the site

Mate at work has a Honda Vision scooter that seems electrically dead, turn the ignition switch and there's nothing, no lights, Nowt..

Checked the battery and that's fine, there's a couple of relays and they checkout good including the one on the starter circuit
The footrest switch is working as it should
Starter switch seems to be switching correctly
No blown fuses
We've tried a wiggle test of all the connectors and wiring that we can see and nothing..

This has got two wheels less than I'm used to dealing with, so any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Have you checked the main earth cable from the battery to the frame if ok check the power cable to the starter motor then main power feeds to the fuse box then your into all the wiring first check would be feeds to ignition switch that would be the way I would check it

I had a similar problem on my Honda Dylan.
Turned out to be just corroded battery connections.

Sounds like a bad earth connection somewhere.

I'd work round starting with battery terminals.

Do motorbikes/scooters have negative earth chassis like cars?

If so then check those connections next.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts

We've looked again at the main earth and run a separate earth and the bloody thing tried to fire so we know we're on the right lines

Now to find the various earth and check those

The battery is good and its terminals nice a clean

Well done looks like you’re in the right track to sort it

Nice work, seems you're getting the problem solved.

Work methodically through the earth points keeping notes as you go.
