Headlights

Has anybody used these 5 3/4" lights from Premier Wiring (piccy below).

They seem good value for £55 pair.

Let me know what you think before I shell out. I do like the S-V-C ones but i'm finding it difficult to spend £95 on lights.

If they are the same shape as svc i might go for it ???

Just make sure they dip to the correct side,i know some have used the plastic left hand drive slovak tractor lights but i failed SVA as my examiner didnt like them.

Wait till you come to use em.......We belt down the lanes up here in Scotland at night and the expensive ones give good light. They are more important than you think as it is almost always dark in these parts. Summer excluded (JUNE 23)

Aye - if i remember correctly that was June 23rd 1987. Hasnt happened since (summer up North that is!!!!!)

My view is that you cant have enough light. Best is best. Many say they wont be out at night but there will always be those times when on way home at dusk or away for the weekend when you need them. Id budget on other areas first that can be upgraded later when funds allow. £55 now is far more expensive if you have to pay another £95 later.

ive gone for these lights. to be fair i havnt driven with them yet (hard to get much speed up in a chassis!), but the quality seems spot on. they come without bulbs so my plan is to put in some of those halogen ultrabright jobbies, hopefully bypassing some of the probs detailed above.

I've used the SVC ones, made from brass with black finish. Beautifully made and the same as used by Westfield, in fact the boxes were marked Westfield. Very pleased with them, nice light output, easy fit and set up. I'm glad I paid the extra having seen some of the cheaper offerings.

I'm with wicket on this,i ended up with the SVC lights in black on brass.

I have those headlights from premier , they dip to the right !
You can however turn the lense to move thje beam pattern to a more left dip type.

OK, I admit I have a vested interest, but having asked on numerious occasions, and played about with lenses here, I still can't understand how turning a lens a bit will stop the optics dipping dipping left-wards and change it to dipping to the right.
We supply large quantities of lights to Continental Europe and a few to the USA and all the lenses have the non-semrical pattern in the lenses as a mirror image, and the bulb in a different orientation.
The Lucas, Wipac, Saturnus etc etc lenses all are like this.

ps if you want REALY good lights fit the Osram Xenon bulbs - "E" marked 55w dip & 60w main beam +50% brighter. I use them and have just fitted them to the wife's car.

Those lights are made by Rinder, a Spanish company. My car failed SVA on these (and about 3 pages of other stuff!!) They have been replaced with those from SVC. I'm off to France Sept. so may put these lights back on for the trip!
