LED lights - SVA OK?

This little numberplate light looks really neat, but is it ok for SVA?

Cool.

No idea about fit for purpose though... give em a call and find out!

If I understand 'fit for purpose' correctly, it has basically got to light up the numberplate. E marking doesn't seem to be required then?

mot states that it should be white. Any compulasy lights must be the correct colour, but additional lights do not come into it e.g. boy racer blue washer jets.

Aha - so as these led's are actually white in colour they should be ok

Number plate lights should give "adequate" illumination, so it’s up to the tester (if the light is not "E" marked) to say if he thinks its adequate or not.
Careful about bolt or screw heads with less than 2.5 mm rads.

They test it in daylight without a plate fitted. If it shines and it's not got sharp edges it passes.
