Any Electrical Wizards out there?
Ben Smith - 2/8/05 at 11:04 PM

Recently bought 2 Aim ST1 dashes off Ebay. One of these is complete the other is not! The plan was to copy the wiring from one for the other.
Unfotunatley the entire plug is missing from the incomplete unit. In the manual this is described as a 26 pin M/S connector. After doing a little research it apears to be a French military radio connector of some sort. It is a two piece plug with a bayonet connection.
I think I can get one but at great expense (nearly£100).
Any body know a cheaper solution?

Will post a couple of pic in archive tomorrow. Would be a shame not to get it working . Is exactly what I want.

Thanks

Ben.

Try a company called RS, they have all sorts of things like that.

UPDATE.

Have managed to get a prewired loom half of this plug from DATASPARES. He can get the other half but will be £41, min of 4 ordered and 12 weeks.

I have posted a couple of pics in my archive. It is the half that fits to the unit that I need. With a bayonet fitting to match the half I have coming.

I will post a pic of the loom part when it arrives.

Thanks

Ben.

From your photo it looks like you are missing the housing from a bulkhead connection. The rubber housing with the sockets in it would normally protrude through the panel and be retained in the housing which also incorporates the bayonet fitting. If this is the type of connector I think it is you will need to get the part number of the plug as the plug and sockets have indexing keyways

Ben,

Put a request out on the Sylva list. There's a few people on there who may be able to locate the part

from http://www.rswww.com

search for 26 way connector

example pics, they list
26 way chassis mount plug
26 way chassis mount socket
26 way cable mount plug
26 way cable mount socket

you may just have to ring them to clarify which half they class as plug and which as socket.

cost £20 - £30

Looks like a Litton connector or another variation of that theme..

Try a google search for Litton plugs and see what comes up, may be a bit pricey though..

You may have to order the contacts to go inside the plug seperately which is what normally pushes the price high.
