Relays

Being a electrical idiot, what relays do I need?
Sierra column & loom, but no relays. They may be hiding in the garage but can't find them.
Main beam, dip beam and flasher relays I think. Have I forgotten any and are they easily obtainable from Ford

TIA

Cooling fan? Hazards flasher is seperate from indicators (IIRC).

For all your relays apart from the flasher one which is special you can just use these:

http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=37526&criteria=relay&doy=15m12

Part # N00AW at £1.79 each.

P.S. If you've lost the flasher one then Halfrauds sell them.

I think the Hazards and indicators are combined on the Sierra. From the wiring diagrams it looks that way. Ask me again after the weekend when I've wired them up!

As a general rule anything over 10 amps will need a relay. Although it does usually depend ond the switch rating.

the haz/indi relay is combined and also not part of the fuse box, generally found above the steering column and is a right pain to get out with everything fitted. If you get stuck for the positions of the relays on the sierra fusebox and which ones you need give me a shout and I will take a photo of mine. Finally managed to eliminate all the non essential items from mine. Found that the fuse box lid was useless when identifing what relay was what.

There are two different flasher relays depending on the donor Sierra's age, earlier has 3 wires and the later has 4. The lighting relays in mine were the same colour as the main wiring to them, yellow and white.
