Can someone tell me please how you wire up the horn switch to the sierra was/wipe stalk??
did a search, and it's supposed to be 53C for the horn and 54 -earth for the horn,
I rigged up a test lamp instead of cra**ing myself everytime the horn went off, and annoying the neighbours .
but the lamp stays on ,and only dims the bulb slightly when I press the washer on the stalk??
anybody else had this problem?? and how do I resolve it??
regards,
Greg
cheers Mark
Was going to do the same, but was waiting till after SVA, as the car is waiting for retest so dont want to tear it apart.
Will save a lot of hassle if you do find out the pins Mark!
That's what I did, but no use to you, as I used Manta switchgear. Beginning to wish I'd used a seperate button, as mine now NEEDS windscreen washers!
Regardless of what switches you have, you ought to use the switch to fire a relay, and the relay contacts to fire the horn. Horn currents are enough
to weld up the switch contacts.
relays are dirt cheap, especially if you pocket a few on each visit to the scrappy's
Does this help.

This might. Depends which switch you are using. Pre 87 washers is a switched earth on 53C. Use the washer switch to earth the horn relay.
87 onward 53C is a switched live feed to the washers. Use 53C to provide the switching feed to a relay.
