ok so this does not sound like a problem and may not even be a problem but i'm wondering if anyone elses lights and horn work when igniton is off? basicly I've spent a lot of this week checking and changing my wireing after first of all nothing worked then a bit worked, then a bit of smoke and some burnt out loom followed by some re-wireing and noticing a fuse wasn't connected propperly. Now all works but as stated above, (working without even a key in it). Any clues? BTW Its a vicki green loom onto a pinto.

Oh while i'm at it Has anyone use a daewoo matiz alternator and know which wire goes to where? as yet is not connected.

Do you mean they are always on, or just that they can be switched on? If switchable, that's fine just remember to switch them off! Having the horn work is fine too.

I mean that they work on the switch, The horn I don't mind but I am liable to forget about the lights as I've got lazy with my tin top that turns them off for you.

It's ok either way really but if you want them to be disabled with the ignition off then just change the feed from a permanent one to a switched one.

Just fit a switch so that it beeps at you when the ignition's off. Or feed the dip beam from the switched side of the igniton, rather thanthe always live bit.

Isn't it a legal requirement that the lights, (at least the side lights), work at all times. So that the car can be left unattended at night. I may be wrong, in which case somebody will soon say so. Ray

Mate the vicki green loom has a white wire with a female spade on it in the switch loom. Thats the ign feed for the dip/main light relays. Connect that up instead of a permanent feed.

Ps your alowd to have them working all the time.

Cheers, That would make sense with the white wire, I did wonder what that was for! As for legal requirment on the side lights, i don't think it is as my scooby turns off all lights with the ignition.

Position lights must work with ignition off for SVA. Does your road car have indicator wired position lights so they come on when the ignition is off and indicator is switched to either side.?

Not thaqt I know of but i'll confirm this tomorrow.

Often on road cars all the lights go off with the ign if the switch is on headlights but then the sides come on when switched back to sidelights.

I'd leave it as it is, fit a battery master switch so you can disable the car when you leave it.
