I'm sure its be asked before, but I can't find it.......
Which is the best donor to get the coil pack and so on from ?
I've got a pinto and I'd like to be able to use std. plug leads or some kind
any thoughts
cheers, Robert
For the Coil pack, Fiesta Mk3 / 3.5 (certainly the one wiv Single Point Fuel injection) its mounted on the back right had side of the block I believe
so is easiest to get to.
The EDIS unit is also easy to get off the fiesta as its mounted on the read engine bulkhead
For the CPS the 1.8 Sierra is the easiest to get the sencor and the front pulley timing wheel from (the Coil pack could also be gotten from this)
i don't really want to make a new thread about this, so if anyone happend to read this, where can i get the EDIS and coil pack and trigger wheel for a V6?
At a complete guess i'd say one of the later V6 engined Sierra's or Granada's.
Maybe the 2.9 Scorpio Ultima might have had them as an improvement on the standard.
Or maybe the Earlier V6 mondeo's ( as some of the Mondeo 4 pot Zetecs I think had the EDIS).
Its a lovely day.. take a trip down your local scrapyard and have a look!

its a lovely day, but my local scrapyard isn't. if i asked for a v6 EDIS for a ford, he'd give me an old door and insist its exactly the
same... seriously.
i went for a bosch distributor for my old mini once, i saw one on the shelf, yet he handed me the old Ducelier type, and insisted they were all
exactly the same. just a different cap. when i pointed out the one i wanted on the shelf, he told me i didn't want that one... besides i'm
just out to the pub, so will try somewhere else tomorrow
cheers!
I wouldn't bother with EDIS. Use the MegasquirtnSpark-Extra ( http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/ ) firmware and you don't need
anything apart from the crank VR sensor and the coilpack to run a wasted spark system.
You may have to mod you MS by adding another VB921 (or 2 on a v6 I guess) and a couple of small other changes.

You can get the EDIS and coil pack etc. from a MK1 Mondeo Automatic. EDIS and coil pack are out of the way of sh** and grime on these so usually look
new-ish.
For a V6 EDIS, maybe try looking for a MK1 Mondeo V6 Automatic (don't know for sure whether the 6-cylinders used EDIS) ?
thanks for the above

The early v6 auto Mondeos did use an Edis, I have one available but no coilpack if you get stuck for one.
