thought you brain boxes maybe able to help.
Here is the issue.
When i drive on a new road around 20-50 i get a wobbly in the wheel and i can hear it. it feels like i have a bobble in the tyre and as i get faster
the noise does too.
i have changed the discs for new discs and still there.
i then changed the wheel to the spare its still there with the spare wheel on (space saver) its alot worse.
Its rear wheel drive and so its not a cv joint. i can only think it is the wheel bearing.
does that seem like it could be that???
thanks
You have changed quite a few of the variables so it's likely to be wheel bearing, track rod end or suspension bushes.
I had a stub axle go which caused a wheel wobble but i would have thought your wheel would have fallen off by now if that is what it was!
gulp :O(
i had the wheel bearing go on my fiesta. I just drove it straight to the garage and they were astonished the wheel hadnt worked itself off on the way over
isnt it with a wheel bearing the noise is more pronounced when steering to the other side of the fault, ie- if it is the left whee, when loading it by turning right the noise becomes louder? if it is and its been like it for a while then you may need a big puller as it will have been getting very very hot!
The easiest way to tell if it is a wheel bearing is to jack the car up and give the wheel a shake in the half past twelve position (or six o clock )
If there is excessive movement, you know it is probably the bearing.
hth
thanks guys ill have a look tonight.
:O)
