Not entirely sure what or why or how. Oh well, £3.30 is about half of what a poorly mixed G&T is in a bar, so nothing to cry about!

I wouldn't use it, will likely be very rusty from the inside out!
Why , when I read the title , was my first thought "what has scootz bought now...."
yeah, its alright, but i wouldn't trust it as a air receiver. what are you going to do with it?
You can weight it in

It's even older than mine, which was tested in 1942 to 400lbs. It'll be fine for it's rated pressure (but 80lbs isnt much) if it's
not been left with water in too much, but there's a fair possibility that it has been so you need to get it checked to be safe. How thick are the
walls, mine are 3/8" so there's a fair bit to rust through just to make it as thin as a modern one. I've seen one rust through &
it just started to leak, no dramatic explosion,
I thought about using one to make a new wood burner for my workshop when the current one is getting done.
Take the plate off and polish it up to have as an ornament, then weigh in the tank. I don't think I would trust it to still be up to spec
It's easy enough to hydraulically test it - I did that on boilers at the local Engineering club a few times.
fill it full of water and put a foot pump on the top. Worst that can happen is it splits and you get wet.
