Put your hand over the exhaust pipe ?
I thought it was a brilliant story, very funny, not so funny for the person invloved though.
LOL been there done that, but not with engine running
my golf has a dodgy central locking motor, so doesnt always recognise that the door has been opened, I opened the door with remote, then realised I
wanted to go in the boot, pressed the button on the door to open the boot, closed the door, walked towards the boot, only to hear it lock itself, and
the key was on the drivers seat
oops
only one key for the car, one broken window, and I then got a spare cut, will only open the door, not start the engine, but at least I can get in it
now
£300+ I was quoted for complete new key

Or just put it in neutral before getting out the car. What a dollop.

my thoughts, plus what would f happened if there wasnt any snow ? it would of driven itself off down the road
sureley thats what handbreaks are for as well ??
Little bit of snow equals remove brain !!!!
Why does a inch of snow bring this country to a standstill.
Lucky that wally had already dropped his kids off and they weren't inside laughing at him.
I cannot believe some people are so thick, he tried to stop a spinning wheel with his foot? What if the tyre had 'grabbed' a shoe-lace or
the bottom of his trousers and dragged him under the car?
People this stupid should not be allowed to breed!

If the doors lock when the car is moving you have to ask how he got out...
I was thinking the same thing, but some cars do let you open the door from inside when it's locked.
I don't think I would have driven home after one of the tyres had started smoking and breaking apart.
Yeah, but if it's locked because it's moving isn't it just attracting the idiots if it can still be opened from the inside?
Also how much torque has that car got at idle for him to just let the clutch out and not notice it was in gear? I know it's slippery but
still....
The whole story seems abit weird, how could you exit the car with it in gear, no handbrake and the wheels actually spinning and not notice? It would
make sense in an auto (I've seen a Jag drive with noone in it and the handbrake up) but I don't see it happening in a manual.
Would the car not have stalled if he got traction?
Well I stalled mine on the ice today, and that's a big 2 litre diesel so he must have done something deserving of the Plank Award to manage to get those drive wheels turning without him stalling or noticing.
absolutely incompetent - and even more shocking, he told his insurance company? I hope they royally shaft him next year just for being so dangerously half-arsed. He wont be finding his little tale so funny if he gets prosecuted for dangerous driving...
