Except it's cheaper and the postage is cheaper as a BIN via Ebay??!?

got one of those for christmas, the kit price is a bit of a con. you pay £10 for the model but once you have been to the model shop and got all the paints on the list plus the glue etc your another £25 down plus its a very small model.

morcus - 8/1/11 at 07:02 AM

I might get me one, I got tons of Glue and Paint.

1.24 is quite small. Thats nearly matchbox size.

morcus - 8/1/11 at 08:26 AM

I/24 is a decent size for a desk model, I just grabbed a '56 corvette model off my window sill to see what it was and thats 1/24 and it's about 7" by 3".

The Tamiya 1/8 model is the one to go for but its as rare as chicken lips and mucho dinero.
Cheers,
Bob

That's what I wanted but by the time I had taken the decision to go for it, the price had gone through the roof (£100+ now). So that one was the consolation prize. think I paid £4.70 +p&p for it off the bay last year.

Just use the book and make you own. All you need to do is find a suplier for things like the wheels unless you can make them yourself (It's not as difficult as you might think).

A few photos of a model of my car made from a Tamyia kit, very heavily modified, model adapted by my cousin who is an exceptional model maker
