Thats a shame Scott as based on your usual modus operandi, I would have liked to have bought that off you for £600 in a few months time!!!

What were you thinking of doing with it?

scootz - 30/1/11 at 11:08 PM

I've always wanted to do a nut and bolt re-build on either an E-type or XJS...

plentywahalla - 30/1/11 at 11:08 PM

I was highest bidder on that Mitchell Cotts gearbox up to 2 seconds before the end.

Fortunately I decided afterwards that I didn't really want it! .... strange that isn't it?

Peteff - 30/1/11 at 11:13 PM

Strip the primer filler off it back to bare metal and then get rid of the rust, spend £40,000 on parts and then have a car worth £20,000, better to get one with a registration

I know... I know... I think perhaps I'm a little impulsive!

but you could have made an awesome pro-street with the chassis. Big block or blown LS1, 12" wide rear tyres, full roll cage, bucket seats, discs all round, and polished ali bodywork!

If Carlsberg did understatements!

2+2 is the one nobody wants, it,s not just longer, it's higher too, and looks like a perversion of the standard coupe.

Unless you happen to be 6'4" and actually want to drive the car, then the DHC & FHC are far too cramped, I am such, and have had both, now run 2+2

They are horrendously expensive to rebuild properly, and my 3.8 flat floor convertable that i sold in 1996 (ish) for 6k
that was a total wreck, is still not on the road, yet having had at least 40k spent,

and will probably need at least another 5k

The E-type is my favorite all time car, and IMHO nothing comes close to the beuty of it
