The sad bit is people will buy them.

Must be an easy life in the design studio though.

"Hanz, we need a new car."

"Ya, I shall photocopy the bottom half of a mini and photoshop a 911 roof onto it."

Job done, off to the pub.

Odd, but not the ugliest thing I've seen on this forum...

I do agree with their 4x4 one, it looks bigger than my mondeo! Someone needs to remind BMW that "mini" means "small"

BenB - 21/6/11 at 07:01 PM

I quite like the look of it. I don't think I'd fit in it but I quite like it. Each to their own

David Jenkins - 21/6/11 at 07:01 PM

The 4x4 one IS slightly larger than my Focus! I pulled up behind one in traffic last week.

Pointless, stupid machine...

myke pocock - 21/6/11 at 07:27 PM

I hate ALL those Mini's full stop. Point is though that they sell shed fulls of the bloody things so someone must have got the equation right unfortunately and it also gives work to people in this country as well. HO HUM!!!!

What next the Mini pickup or Mini van.

Sorry BMW but everything you do has been done before, whether it be a Mini, S, Cooper, Traveller, Van, Pickup or paintjob.

Unfortunately, you have no imagination, and when you do try and think for yourselves you come up with crap like this

.

Oh dear

Am I the only one that was annoyed when they brought out a version of the mini traveller [i.e estate] and called it the clubman, which was a saloon?

Kwik - 21/6/11 at 07:50 PM

Why does that remind me of this?

My brain just picked up on the "no imagination" part, saw the picture and said "CRX!"

Then it said "Prius!"

The X6 looks alright in real life.

To be fair, they showed us this last year, along with a convertible version of it, so we knew it was coming. They have plans for a ten model line up which depending what counts as a model means we can expect another five kinds of mini.

Hopefully one of them will be a city car which would make the most sense.

There was a clubman estate as well though.

swanny - 22/6/11 at 09:51 AM

fugly.
bottom half looks lardy and heavy and the top half much smaller.
looks like a smaller scale car photoshopped onto the top.

by bringing ten versions of the same thing out, does this mean people will buy in the mistaken belief that it will make them different?

Lets put it this way, my parents have had 2 Priuses (Priuii?) over the past few years.. They told me they was going to get a Mini, and they even had the list of things to tick with the extras they wanted (apparently this list is really long) so they decided on the Prius on the basis that there was no messing about, there's 3 models (meh, ok and posh I persume) so they just Got A Car.

BMW have taken the mini concept and kept it going, thriving in fact. If it had been up to Rover or whatever they were called they would have disappeared off the planet years ago, along with vast amounts of taxpayers money no doubt

The roadster concept version of it looks alright and makes sense.

Surely making lots of versions of the same car is an idea lifted right out of the book of Austin Rover's predecessor, BL? How many Mini based cars did they make?

That's the problem they face, they have to make lots of samey cars because the whole brand is based on the same shape in the same way that porsche is, Go on their website and see how many different models of 911 you have to choose from.

My Brother was looking at getting a Puma which got me thinking what you could get simillar now, and I can tell you the list wasn't very long so making that kind of car does make sense.

American journalist just seem to like the name Mini Cooper Coop as they say it, doesn't have the same ring when you can pronounce and é.
