Is there an accepted 'market-leader' for IRS chassis kits?
The Caterham CSR gets very mixed reviews for such an exotic piece of machinery, so that's out (even if you had £40k to actually spend on one
). Westfield next? Still pricey though!
Anyone else make a good one at real-world prices?

aries motorsport does a good one
when the guys on piston heads drove my car they were impressed and compared it to some very expensive toys. They also thought it was more stable than
some expensive stuff.
So i'd stick my neck out and say for a sensible price GKD
They did indeed seem to like it! Any interest yet?
Westfield would probably be your next look, but high prices again. And I'm not a fan some of their rose joint positions (although they seem to
work for all but the very few).
I'm running the Aries one and it's been very good, and was extremely good value for money.

If your looking at the cheaper end, another vote for the STM/Aries chassis although it does have issues , unless Aries have updated the design since
they took over ?. The supplied diff hanging arrangement on the STM kit was poor to say the least, i now have a solid mounted diff which improved the
handling and feel no end.
Dax made big claims for their camber compensation chassis, although iv'e never been in one so can't comment..
Westfields drive nice, and seem to do well on the hills, so must be worth a look...
MNR's chassis seems well put together.
As for the CSR, my pockets are not deep enough to comment, but having chased a fair few Caterhams on track days, i'm surprised they get mixed
reviews, maybe they are being evaluated on the road, and compared to normal sports cars.

What about having a chassis built to your spec by someone who really understands geometry etc?
Will cost more than a Westy though... (ask me how I know.)

MNR?
Usual suspects as above, plus the striker, maybe the mk.
Stilll new MAC#1 waiting for you here
I would have said Aries....... Diff mounts are fine on my chassis. They may be at the cheaper end (as you say),but they go together great.
If thats the case, then Aries must have re-designed them, cos my titchy 899cc engine kept doing a good job of twisting the diff out of the
chassis.......

Pic only shows the top mounts, the bottom mount is a piece of RHS with two lugs on welded to the chassis, it was
a retro fit so easily done without stripping the car.

I was planning to sort my diff mount out over the winter. Have you got any pictures?
Probably not Scootz, it's likely they will have been 1400's with a morris ital axle, and a pensioner wearing a flat cap behind the
wheel..... did i not mention i have the driving ability of mr bean

Was it CSR's specifically that you've been chasing (as they're the only Caterham model with an IRS).
Cheers wadders, food for thought!

The Dax chassis is De Dion isn't it? From memory it uses quite a neat A arm at the top and more substantial lower trailing arms.
