I just spotted this Ford Sierra on ebay
Ford Sierra 1.8 L Pinto Rally-Race | eBay
Only £2,000 starting bid ( Reserve not met )
I guess it's worth more because it is exempt from Road Tax ( Most definitely not )
Where do folk come up with such daft ideas of value ?
Did make me laugh though.
I dont think it is going to be tax expempt once registered in the UK anyway is it?
And how can it be MoT'd?
Pretty sure its illegal for a UK national to drive a foreign registered car.
Edit:
Yes I was right, you cant (in most circumstances)

Not registered in the UK but the V5 is available .... Hmmm
If I remember correctly, the whole tax exemption malakey was frozen at vehicles registered prior to 1973 ( ish ? )
Finally someone recognising the true value of a boat anchor!
"51Thousand Kilometers on clock"
Would that be becasue Sierra only went up to 99,999 then went back around the clock?
Is the ICE included?

I see that you spotted the superb sound system in the boot.
Yes, to be tax exempt it has to have been registered before 31 Dec 72. So this is a 86 car so not even close.
I reckon it's worth £50 for spares.
the 3door sierra shells are now starting to be worth more as people are using them to re-shell there 3door cosworths.............but not at this price ????
The whole thing seems fishy.
I was under the understanding you could only use a forienge registered car if you were visiting with it and it was fully insured and registered in
it's home country. There seem to be a few around here that seem to be keeping there cars registered in other countries and the whole thing
doesn't seem kosher to me. Theres a house round the corner with three cars with 1 on Polish plates, one on German and the other on what I think
are Slovak or Croatian plates and the Polish one has been on the drive almost every time I go past for the last 6 months.
I here Sierras are dirt cheep out in Euroland, we should all go and get ourselves a Tax exempt car.
