OK mazda dfp has failed again

£3100 from mazda ..... to fix

COuld I do this myslef ?


Any one know about washing out a DPF filter with a power washer....?

Inotek? Not sure of spelling, do a product for cleaning DPFs . Haven't used it myself but if it is anything like as good as their other products it will work a treat

Friend of ours had the same quote from Mazda. He went for deletion and a re-map.......no problems at all.

You could try droping the exhaust and back washing with a pressure washer should clean to som extent if it is choked.

Problem I am in Aberdeen and so is the car... So bit far from Leeds

Car is also in LIMP mode.

Don't was deletion as heard it doesn't really work that well car can run like a dog after words

Mine was fubbared and broke down on the way to Energy Tuning for removal..

AA man towed me there and next day the car was transformed... DPF removed, ECU remapped, EGR blocked, and an oil and filter change.

I had mine jetting clean on a 1.6 tdi/hdi fitted to my Volvo. It made a difference to the way it revved, but didn't sort the problem. Mine was all down to running out of Eolys oil, an additive used to increase exhaust gas temps to burn all the crud out. All 1.6's use it, some 2.0 do, but not the 2.2 if I remember correctly. A DPF removal is the only long term solution. Chatting the the Volvo technician after sorting mine, I asked him whether all they do is routine servicing these days, his comment was "That and dpf faults!" The curse of the modern diesel.
