Hi guys.... I know I don't post on here that much these days. Other things have been consuming a lot of time...but I still get on for a look
around!
I only post this here as I think a few guys might find it interesting.....
Anyway tomorrow we fly out to LA and then on a small road trip to Bonneville a few days later with 6 land speed record bikes in tow. The BBC are
coming along too and making a 2 hr documentary.
Long story short, 6 guys have built bikes and are off to Bonneville to attempt some records. I am going along as 'crew' with one of the
bikes. But don't doubt we'll all be helping each other out over the couple of weeks we are there.
The longer story can be found here:

And there is a blog running here:

Blog has only just opened, but hopefully will get updated on a daily basis by each team with progress and pics etc.
Sounds like fun! Have a great time

Wow and good luck.
Well, made it back in one piece, slightly more tanned than before and a lot poorer!
Several days in LA, Vegas, 10 days in Wendover, more days in LA, up to San Jose to see John Reed, then back to LA before flying home. It went way too
fast! Covered 5000 miles all told
Heres pics from the trip, many more were taken!
The yanks can make beer these days, we drank lots of it!
It was 46deg when we stopped here in the Mojave, at 7pm!
$30/night hotel rooms? Only in Vegas!

There was something on BBC North West news a couple of weeks ago, about a team from the Isle of Man breaking a 'bike land speed record. Were they part of your group? I didn't hear the whole story as I only caught the end of the report.
Looks amazing
There are some fantastic shots there. Love the ones with the mountains behind

No final details of the program yet, other than there are 2 episodes and that it will be shown in the new year.
We didn't set any new records, but we had good fun trying! Looks like we are all going back in 2 years time to have another go.
We all had running problems, but thats the way things go....
Two thoughts
firstly how short of the records? I mean was it like miles and we're sulking for two years, or tantalisingly close it'll take two years to
develope the bikes and crack it.
secondly I'm not a bike person (I mean were's the rest of the car you know wheels and so forth) but I like the look of some of those,
especially the Jawa and the 100cc streamlined Yamaha
of cource even better is the flat head v8 CAR *mumble mumble rotten bikes mumble* :-)
Some were short, but most were due to running issues the bikes are capable. 2 years is just because its not exactly a cheap thing to do, so it gives
everyone change to save up, and get some proper development on the bikes.
Plenty of cars there, more than bikes. I didn't get chance to take many pics as you probably don't understand the scale of the place. From
the entrance to the pits, to the far end is around 3 miles, too far to walk in 40+deg heat. Additionally the round trip from the pits to the track,
collect the vehicle at the end of the run, collect timing ticket and back to the pits was 27miles.....
