After six or seven weeks of looking for a new house with a garage in Auckland, I finally moved in on Friday just in time to collect my stuff from the
shipping company. I had to wait until Monday for them to deliver the car, but I managed to collect everything else on Friday. Annoyingly, the car was
left on the drive with the keys under the wheel and no one signed for it! I didn't even know it had been delivered until I phoned up from work
asking when to expect it.
The engine started first time without any problems, although the coolant is way down. I had some worries about the head gasket before it left but
it's not smoking any more. I'll have to check it out when I sort the coolant plumbing properly.
There was nothing unexpected in terms of cost, other than getting stung for more GST (VAT) than I had planned. That was all to do with length of
ownership and when I first moved to New Zealand.
Now I need to get working on it so that I can put it through an LVVT to get it on the road.

When I first looked at the photo I thought you had parked it IN the house
That's a big garage in UK terms

what line of work are you in? have been thinking (trying to convince other half) about moving to nz for quite a while. when you get it registered
you need to take it on a drive round lake taupo and up the mountains through tongariro national park(its one of the most beautiful places i have ever
been in my life). you also need to take it up to the coromandel the 25A up to hahei beach is just an epic 30km of hairpin after hairpin
Is that spare bodywork wrapped up in the background?
That's definitely another bonnet on the right.
here is a little vid i took up in the mountains.
