Hi all,
went to pick up the missus from work and the nearside CV joint busted, just snapped on the threaded part where the bolt was. Been trying to find an exploded diagram to understand what i'm looking at and what oarts i need to order but cant find anything, cant be arsed to go all the way up to Halfords to buy a haynes manual so does anyone know a website with this stuff on it?
Many thanks guys.

Surely, you need an outer CV joint or replacement driveshaft?

yeah hoping its just the outer CV joint but not had a good look yet as i had other things to do just abandoned the car at the multi-story, at home at the mo and want to do some homework before i go back down to the car.
Will check out you-tube, good idea that matey.

Just ask at the local Volvo garage!

The Volvo owners club is the place to try. Always very helpful when we owned a 480 many years ago, I was a member though

Probably corrosion that caused that. You'll need to take suspension apart to get the driveshaft out .

Amazing to hear you still have one! Valerie the Volvo was my 2nd ever car, and compared to my mates in their crappy escorts and Astras, she was a beast! Comfy, reasonably quick, and very reliable! She was written off when some old dear drove into the back of me - the insurance paid out and I bought her back for £50. After 10 mins with a mallet, she was nearly as good as new. We ran her for another 3 years - very cheap motoring!

Good luck with your fix - I am sure you will get it sorted!
