Think I would prefer a 550kg Spire with a 280hp hyabusa turbo, same bhp/Ton and pocket the spare £100k, that is a lot of petrol, brake pads, track days and tuition.
And 40hrs track time between rebuilds!!

40 hours, it's not even that highly stressed @ 480bhp and 280lbs of torque, most decent 1000cc bikes make better figures per cc and last for 75,000 miles on basic services.
Is that engine two overbored hyabusa block/heads on a single crank? I remember one of the first of this type being two yamaha exups on a single crank, chosen as they were laid over at an angle in the bike.

And the 40 hours is warranty! I'm not sure many race manufacturers offer more than a 40 hours warrenty. Although a rebuild will not be cheap. It will be a lot cheaper than a new motor

I think Radical do go a bit overboard on "parts lifing". This is from the SR3 manual...
"Component 'lifing'
This chart gives the recommended life expectancy of components
under 'normal, on-track racing conditions'. If some of your racing time
is done 'off-track' or you hit kerbs, pot holes or other cars - hard, then
you will need to consider reducing the timescales recommended. On
the other hand, more 'gentle' trackday use will obviously extend the
recommended time!

Assuming 1.5 minutes per lap that's 1600 laps between rebuilds so at say 50 laps per track day that's 32 track days between re-builds so
maybe not that bad as far as bangs per buck but still a very rich man's toy.
I agree with Ugg10 - there are better and maybe not much slower options, and also the risk of spending 100 000+ and still being beaten by a
"kit" car that has cost 1/5 as much to buy complete. I guess the feeling some owners of catering vans must occasionally experience at the
hands of some kit cars at some track days.
