Thats a Land Wing X7 from China... Cynically copied by Land Rover as the Evoque or I might have that the wrong way around

Chinese Range Rover copy. The Land Wind, bit about it here:-

I think its fair to say there's one or two folks at Landrover that aren't too impressed by this

The lawyers will be working overtime, It would be interesting to see what would happen if somebody tried to import one over here....

You wouldn't even be able to transport it across any territory where Land Rovers IP was protected (anywhere other than China basically)

oh no not two versions of this ugly car

spaximus - 24/11/14 at 10:13 PM

Interesting that they did the same with BMW X5, they took it to court and the Chinese judge found that although it was identical, there appears to be no law against copying anything over there.

I guess LR will know that and makes lots of noise but not expecting them to back down. Just because the exterior looks the same it will not be anything llike a real one

Not really, it says Land Wing on the front and Google did the rest.

Apparently this Chinese company is ultimately owned by Ford a few steps up the parent company ladder. The same Ford that also owns Land Rover. I don't think much will happen about this.

Ford doesnt own Land Rover anymore, its been TATA since 2008, and I suspect the Evoque was designed under the Tata regime.

Ford don't own LandRover/Jaguar any more. They sold it to Tata several years ago.
