No idea what your issue is but for my S60 I bought a icarsoft diagnostic tool (£87) which has paid for itself many times now and tbh I don't think I could afford to run such a car without it.

Oh and Volvo's do tend to throw up plenty of scary looking warnings about anything whatsoever like -

SRS Urgent Service Required! = actually was just the seatbelt buckle contact switch broken = £11 replacement from Ebay!
