My brother just managed to lock his keys in the boot of his BMW 645, in a suitcase along with passports - 20 mins before niece needed to board a
flight! So they've pretty much smashed the life out of it trying to get in, ended up getting clothes and passports out through the ski flap in
the nick of time. Can't reach the key though.
Any ideas on the solution? Can a locksmith get in, or is it a case of getting a new key made?
Cheers!
Current AA advert us about getting into locked cars, maybe worth a call.
Or just use the spare second key thats in the second drawer in the dresser in the kitchen.

Check your insurance policy for lost key cover.
The official line is BMW keys have to be ordered from Germany, so it is really a case of getting into the car by any means.
Employ a small child to get in through the ski-flap. Pay them in Haribo.
If its a diesel, just smash the boot lid in and get the keys out
as after this weeks news, the whole car will only be worth 79p
seriously there will be an electrical override somewere, goggling it will find it
is there a small plastic master key inside the glove box ?
that's what google brings up
Doesn't it have a boot release in the cabin?
There should also be a boot release lever in the boot in case you lock yourself in there. Can you reach that through the ski hatch?

Cheers everyone. BMW will send someone out for 160, but a new key as a spare is probably a better idea. Gonna have a fiddle with the fishing rod tomorrow! Cheers for your ideas.
I'm really really sorry but I couldn't help laughing at the ridiculousness of this story. I feel a bit bad for finding it amusing but
hopefully your brother will also see the funny side eventually!
I can't even imagine how the passports and car keys ended up inside the suitcase!
Wack in the rear bumper hard enough and pop the locks. Got a baby out of a hot car that way.

Oh well, maybe a happy ending in sight for the beemer. Glad you weren't offended by my childishness!
Out of interest what year is the car? I'm guessing quite old if locking the keys inside reduces it to scrap value? E63 maybe?

Good to see another BMW off the road, as they have never been fitted with indicators

AA or RAC will open the doors in 5 mins. Ask me how I know
I managed to get the keys out today! Went through the rear quarter window like houdini, spent half an hour pulling junk out of the boot, until
eventually I got the key.
It's a 2004 on 90k miles, needs a bit to get it back in shape but there'll be plenty of profit once it's sorted. I suspect he's
just being nice letting me have it cheap!
