It was a good watch, 150 HP from a 748cc engine, is impressive now, but in the 30's !
Also, when they were building the Austin 7, that fuel tank looked like an accident waiting to happen, and it was the roll bar too ...

Very interesting bit of film, thanks. The blown side valve racers produced 70 bhp on a 2 bearing crank, the ohc ones had 3 bearings, and designed for 12,000 rpm! 12” front drum cable operated brakes, overall weight was just under 500 Kgs. Must have been amazing for the time.
