Hi guys it's been quite a while since I was on here. The font of all knowledge as I remember.
So with that in mind here goes.
My daughter has a vehicle as above. The new style vitara. The issue is this
Low speed 15 to 25mph vibration which goes away after this but is left with a growly bearing type noise.
We're thinking prop bearing or Hardy spicer but I've not been under it yet. We think at those low speefs it's unlikely to be drive
shafts ,as at The low speed they'd be lucky to be turning at 20rpm (guessing).
Do we know if this vehicle is permanent 4wd?
Could we disconnect and remove prop for diagnostic purposes or would it lose drive due to an open diff.
?
If so we could tow it to simulate roadspeed as the engine would be running for brake servo to work.
Discuss.
Thanks in advance guys and galls.
Just get under and feel for play in the drive shaft uj's.
I will be when she brings it over tomorrow
Just sounding out for ideas
Thanks.
Had similar noise on a relatives car. Jacked up each corner of car in turn (with axle stands) and found a very slack wheel bearing could wobble the
wheel some 8mm to-fro....
