So I've got my licence, 2x 25L jerry cans, a toolbox, car cover just in case, support car (the missus!) a foot pump, waterproofs, various cameras and lots of drinks. I've checked the car over to make sure that nothing is loose, checked fluids etc. Anything else I should take?

Crash helmet? .. you've got it all pretty much covered there. If you get stuck for anything, usually there's someone else in the paddock that can help.

Unfortunately I forgot the bit about "not breaking down on the way there". Leaking rocker cover = clouds of oil smoke and oil all down the side of the car. Fortunately nothing caught fire but it ended my day before it began. <bad words>
