happens to be for sale, but what does anyone think of this bodywork? anyone know if he's made it himself or is it a kit?

Looks very similar to a Scorhill Magic if my memory is still intact.

I know - remembering obscure 1980s kit cars is very very sad...

I thought it looked like a Dutton!

So what does that make the ex-manufacturer of an 80's kit then?.....

Ah well you see, that's different - you have reason to remember, you were 'involved' - I just read magazines for the first 15 years of my interest in kit cars. Probably spend enough on them to have put a BDG engined caterham on the road as well
Only in the last 10 years or so have I been 'active' so to speak. Just right now is as good as it's ever been though

P.S. I'm still scared of the locost - it's still much too quick for me

Correct - deffo Scorhill Magic (or one of it's subsequent resurrections).

I thought it was very similar to an Arkley SS, MG Midget body conversion

Yep - remember that one as well, but this car looks quite a bit wider to my mind, especially across the nose.

Looks like a Dutton to me too.

front arches too wide for a dutton IMO.
