Wheel Rim Repairs...
scootz - 28/6/10 at 08:01 PM

... anyone know what levels of wheel-damage can, and what cannot, be repaired? More specifically, do we think that the damage in the photo's below can be put right?

It's an aluminium wheel.

Or to be precise..."the wheel is made from Anticorodal 5051 forged aluminium using an hydraulic forging press with a power of 8000 tonnes".

Yup, if you have enough cash. Try ringing this guy http://www.alloywheelrepairs.net/

Would have replied sooner but I had to walk to the back of my garden to view those pics

I had a small ding in a wheel that was not repairable according to a rim specialist. It was significantly smaller than that. So I would put money on it not being possible. And I certainly wouldn't trust driving on it if it does get repaired.

Sorry, not what you want to hear

Ouch!! I'd say no..............and would you really ever trust a wheel thats had such a huge whack??

Once again... the LCB Massive come to the rescue!

Cheers all!

What's it off? Aprilia?

mcerd1 - 28/6/10 at 08:15 PM

the guys at redpath sorted out one of mine - you could always take it along and ask them..... but I wouldn't hold out much hope

but mine saw such a small ding that I hadn't noticed (I thought it had just lost a weight)

I just asked:

Do you still have the tyre off the wheel as I'd like to put it on asap...

I think that ad diserves a multitude of questions throwing at it. I mean honestly, would anyone actually buy that??

The OZ rim eventually went for £!00... guess someone must think they can fix it!
